Some Students May Debate Attending
A University vs Flight School

American Winds Flight Academy
 Merges University Level Academics
With Our Nationally Accredited
Flight Training Program

American Winds appreciates the difficult decisions a student may face when choosing a career decision in becoming a career pilot.  A student may choose to attend a four year university flight program or an independent flight school such as American Winds.  A university program is plagued with astronomical cost.  A typical university four year degree may cost as much as $104,277.

In addition, the flight program student to aircraft ratio is saturated causing increased costs and frustration.  At American Winds Flight Academy we go head to head with university standards.  As an independent flight school that is also a nationally accredited vocational school, we can save you over 60% in savings with graduation within 1 year.   As always, our mission has and will always be safety and proficiency!

    For Our Students

    (1) The Professional Pilot Program
AWFA has developed the Professional Pilot Program (P.P.P.) to prepare individuals who have chosen to become airline pilots or corporate pilots for the interview process and additional knowledge that will be required on the job.  Upon succesful completion of the P.P.P, AWFA will also provide placement assistance.  This program or participation in placement programs does not
    guarantee an interview or employment.

(2)The Commercial Pilot - Single Engine Land Program
The students will obtain the knowledge, skill, and aeronautical experience necessary to meet the requirements for a commercial pilot certificate with an airplane category rating and a single-engine land.  Students considering enrolling in the Professional Pilot Program can start with the Commercial Pilot - SEL Program to decide what is right for them.  It is possible, but not required, for students to take academic courses concurrently with this program.  Each course can be utilized as a tool for self-enhancement and will ultimately make the student a better Commercial Pilot.
