BLOCK TIME DISCOUNTS

At American Winds, we know that flight training is not inexpensive. In order to provide a means to help reduce your cost of flying, we offer block time discounts whereby you can save up to 10% on the cost of renting an aircraft.

Students who put money on their account by either cash or check will receive a 4% cash back! The minimum amount to receive this bonus is $1000. Students must also have a positive balance on their account to receive this bonus. If they owe the school money, even a penny, they will not receive this discount. So, if your flight training costs you $30,000 and you continually put $1000 on your account, you will have gotten $1200 back in bonuses! That's 17.4 hours in the Cessna 150 or 26.6 hours ground training with your flight instructor.  For a sense of humor 75 FAR/AIMs and 12 headsets!

Students can also save money by "backseating" other flights. By taking a step back from the controls, students can leave the pressures of not having to the fly the airplane and perform the maneuvers to observing and learning.  American Winds has a well-defined established "backseat" program.  You can save money while learning from others!  Atul and Tracie took advantage of this opportunity last summer when they trained to become instrument rated pilots together. Read Tracie's testimonial for more information!

Atul and I spent the summer together training to get our instrument ratings. We began at the same time and did all our training together. Whenever I flew, Atul would sit in the backseat. Whenever Atul flew, I would sit in the backseat. Instrument training was not easy. It was hard to maintain my heading and altitude while trying to draw out holds on my kneeboard or brief practice instrument approaches. By backseating Atul's flights, I didn't have to worry about flying the airplane. I would sit in the backseat and draw out the holds he was given and work out how to do them then critique Atul and help him along. I would follow along while he briefed and did practice approaches. As instrument rated pilots, we all know that there are several different types of approaches and briefing them, setting up the aircraft, and flying the aircraft at the same time is not easy. I saved tons of time and money by working with Atul and backseating his flights!
